Kickoff of a new innovation network
Mobility – times of new departures
How will we move from A to B in the future? Discussions about this question often contain buzzwords like Smart Cities, autonomous driving or e-mobility. The mobility sector is undergoing a transformation. Startups, science, industry, investors, politics and established companies are jointly working on new mobility solutions.
New Mobility World (NMW)
Being the biggest event for tomorrow’s mobility, New Mobility World, as part of the IAA, offers the ideal platform for new innovative concepts. The interdisciplinary and intersectoral B2B-Event, with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, aims to unite makers and deciders of all industries. Companies like Kaspersky Lab, IBM, Siemens, Daimler subsidiary Moovel, MyTaxi and Car2Go will be on-site. New Mobility World is the platform for innovative solutions, technologies, visions or products for the mobility of the future.
NMW joined forces with “Startup Sesame”, Europe’s largest alliance of tech events, and set up the incubation hub NMW Lab17 in order to provide startups with even greater support. As a prelude, mobility startups can apply for a two-day pitch contest. Leading companies from the innovation and mobility sector provide the according reach. The ten most innovative international teams that get selected by the jury will then compete against each other on the FORUM-stage of New Mobility World. Prospectively, the networking of founders with experts, industry, investors and mentors should result in synergies. Founders will receive access to capital, expertise and relevant markets. The industry, on the other hand, can profit from NMW Lab17 by getting introduced to new and young ideas and business models as well as dynamic founders
In a multi-stage process, an international jury, including VCs, serial entrepreneurs, industry representatives, journalists and influencers, will respectively select five early stage startups (“freshmen” up to seed funding) and later stage startups (“seniors” as of series A funding). These finalists will face the audience and expert opinions at the NMW pitch competition. The winners will be awarded with valuable media packages, access to VCs and investors, wildcards for accelerator and incubation programs as well as mentoring and professional trainings. Startups can apply until June 15th. The competition is a significant tool to link the various players together for the long term.
ATTENTION: The deadline has been extended until June 30th.
